Einstein’s Workshop is a science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) enrichment center located on the border of Lexington and Burlington, Massachusetts, where kids create, explore, and enjoy robotics, programming, digital art, LEGO, Minecraft, science, making, and inventing.

We’re looking for enthusiastic instructors to help teach students, build confidence, and have fun!

  • Do you love robots? And Lego? and tech toys?
  • Do you love math, science, and technology?
  • Is playing with a laser cutter or 3D printer of a good time?
  • Do you love watching children discover new concepts?

If so, then this is the job for you!

Mentor Responsibilities

  • Playing. Seriously playing all day with kids and LEGO and Minecraft. (It’s a tough job but someone has to do it.)
  • Greeting customers.
  • Providing a welcome and enthusiastic atmosphere.
  • Offering experienced assistance in our STEAM Play space.
  • Keeping our STEAM Play space organized and appealing.
  • Assisting with birthday, Minecraft, and other parties.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

  • Assisting instructors with various technical and administrative tasks in preparation for and during classes.
  • Joining classes to provide help and guidance to students as they learn. (We will train you.)

About You

  • You love working with kids.
  • You are excited about math, science, and technology.
  • You think LEGO, laser cutters, 3D printers, and robots are cool.
  • Ideally, you have experience working with kids.
  • You are at least 16 years old.
  • Instructors and teaching assistants are required to move around the classroom to engage with students so this job requires being able to stand and move around for at least an hour and fifteen minutes without resting.
  • You have the ability to lift and move materials, up to 20 pounds.

During the school year, Einstein’s Workshop is open after school and on weekends. During the summer, we run camp Mondays-Fridays. Thus this is potentially a great job for high school, college, and grad students looking for a few hours of work each day or more hours in the summer. Total hours vary from 4-20 hours/week during the school year and 20-40 hours/week during the summer, depending on your availability and preferences.

Mentor Positions

Workshop Mentor

  • A member of our mentor team throughout the year.
  • Available on at least 1 weekend day for 4-8 hours. Able to work during some holidays.

Summer Mentor

  • Available Monday to Friday at least four weeks in June through August.
  • Available half or full days — 4-8 hours.
