Sensory-Friendly Classes
Einstein’s Workshop has always been committed to welcoming neurodiverse students in our classes and camps whenever possible. We are rolling out a new set of classes specifically designed to cater to students who have sensory issues. Neurodiverse students continue to be welcome in the classes and camps that best fit their schedules. These are our same great classes but with some modifications that might better fit the needs of some of our students. These new sensory-friendly classes will have more control over lighting and sound, smaller class sizes, and be offered at times when the workshop is less busy. Neurotypical students are also welcome in the sensory friendly classes.

Minecraft Adventures (Grades 4-8)
Mondays, 4:30 – 5:45 PM
Join a group of like-minded builders, crafters, and adventurers playing Minecraft. You’ll have the option to build epic structures with unlimited resources in creative mode or test your wits against enemies and nature in survival mode. During this class, you’ll get to explore your creativity while learning the meaning of good digital citizenship and working together through cooperative play. Our seasoned staff will be your guide, teaching you how to harvest resources, build grand structures, and grow as a group in this one-of-a-kind experience. Gain practice with a mouse and keyboard, an important skill in the 21st century. If you’ve never played Minecraft on a desktop computer before, our staff will be happy to teach you!
LEGO Jr. Engineers (Grades K-1)
Thursdays, 4:30 – 5:45 PM
Are you new to LEGO robotics? Then this is the class for you! Unlike LEGOs that are amazing to build, but only sit on your shelf once complete, you’ll get to investigate dynamic LEGO models by learning about gears, belts, and motors. After building each model, you’ll have to solve mechanical and code-based challenges that exercise your creativity and problem-solving skills while bringing your LEGO models to life. You’ll get to improve your understanding of how machines work while having a ton of fun in the process! This class emphasizes hands-on building and design logic, focusing on how structure, mechanics, and creativity work together to make functional LEGO machines. You will frequently work with a partner to practice turn-taking and collaboration skills as well.
Computer Art and Making Things (Grades 2-3)
Fridays, 4:30 – 5:45 PM
Imagine becoming a real digital artist and inventor—all in one super-fun class! Today’s “making” isn’t just about crayons and glue—it’s about unleashing creativity with cool computers and high-tech tools! You will dive into awesome computer art and design programs to create eye-popping images, wild characters, and vibrant digital masterpieces straight out of your imagination.
How Have We Adapted Our Classes to be Sensory-Friendly?
Students will get the experience of taking our regular weekend classes, but at a time when we are closed to the general public so we can control noise, light levels, and distractions. Class sizes will be small to allow for ample student-teacher and peer-to-peer interaction. Additionally, students will be able to take breaks in our STEAM Exploration Zone or in a designated quiet room.
Neurotypical students are also welcome in these classes.
